Thanks again to Ben and everyone at the museum for hosting this event and letting me share the audio from that day with all of you. Bear with me on the audio. We were inside a hangar, so the acoustics weren’t ideal for a podcast, but it was an awesome place to be. Check out the Wings Over the Rockies museum next time you’re in Colorado. There’s some beautiful aircraft on display and it’s worth a stop!

A quick update on the timeline for Cassini’s end of mission. At 3:58pm Eastern Daylight Time, Cassini will take the final images with its camera. A short time later, the spacecraft will turn towards Earth, starting a downlink on the Deep Space Network that will last until the end of mission. I will share links to watch the live stream of the end of mission tomorrow morning, so watch Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for that link. I will also post the link here in the show notes.

54 years ago today, American astronaut Gordon Cooper lifted off on what was the last Project Mercury mission. Today I cover a little of the history of that launch plus I cover some news from a SpaceX launch earlier today. On the next episode I will be looking at what Gordo did during the last Mercury mission, and talk a little about the new Discovery Channel series "Cooper's Treasure"
